What does canker sore mean?

Canker sore is an acute purulent condition in which the breasts are red, swollen and painful and the milk is not discharged well, resulting in pus forming into a canker sore.
Canker sores occur mostly in postpartum breastfeeding women, mostly caused by mastitis due to milk stagnation. It may cause lumps or pain in the breasts, and may be accompanied by generalized fever in severe cases.
Treatment is based on anti-inflammatory treatment with antibiotics such as penicillin and erythromycin.
