Diabetic nephropathy urine protein turn negative is not the kidney disease is cured

Diabetic nephropathy urine protein turn negative, usually does not mean that the kidney disease is completely cured, but generally can indicate that the condition is gradually improving.
Diabetic nephropathy is a kind of diabetic microvascular complication caused by diabetes mellitus. In the early stage of diabetes mellitus, there are usually no obvious symptoms, and with the aggravation of the symptoms, the patients may have high blood pressure, edema, proteinuria and other symptoms. Therefore, if the urine protein gradually turns negative, it can show that the condition is gradually improving, but it does not mean that the kidney disease has been completely improved and cured.
Diabetic nephropathy needs glucose-lowering treatment to control blood glucose in the ideal range. For diabetic patients taking oral glucose-lowering drugs should prefer glucose-lowering drugs that have the ability to protect kidney function and reduce urinary protein, such as gliclazide. It can also be used in conjunction with the use of ACEI or ARB drugs such as enalapril and irbesartan to reduce urinary protein. If oral hypoglycemic drugs cannot be taken, it is recommended to use insulin as early as possible.
All of the above medications should be used under doctor’s guidance, avoid self-medication. Patients with diabetic nephropathy are advised to go to regular hospitals in time and receive standardized treatment under the guidance of doctors.
