Hives are toxins or dampness

Urticaria is known as addiction rash in TCM and can be divided into wind-cold, wind-heat, damp-heat, blood-heat and blood-deficiency-wind-dry types, which are generally not related to toxins. Among them, the damp-heat addiction rash can be considered to be caused by dampness, while the remaining types are considered to be caused by wind-cold, wind-heat, Qi-blood deficiency, and wind-evil invasion, and need to be treated separately for the causative factors. For damp-heat addiction rash is mostly due to damage to the spleen and stomach from eating too much fatty, sweet, thick and greasy, raw and cold food or irregular diet, etc. Failure of the spleen to transport and transform can cause stagnation of water and dampness, which over time generates heat and gathers in the skin to develop. The rash may be triggered by food or drug allergies, friction, hot or cold stimulation, and may be manifested by the sudden appearance of wind clusters of different sizes, white or red, accompanied by itching and pain, dizziness, fatigue, weakness, loss of appetite, and a thin, greasy tongue coating, etc. During the acute attack, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and diarrhea may also appear. If the rash is unbearably itchy, you can also fumigate with Chinese herbs such as Amaranth and Bai Xian Pi to relieve the itch. However, it is also necessary to pay attention to stay away from allergens to avoid aggravating the symptoms, and if necessary, anti-allergic treatment can be applied to drugs. While using medication, avoid eating greasy, spicy and irritating food, and reduce the consumption of fish, shrimp and other allergy-causing foods, and quit smoking and alcohol. In addition, do not overexert yourself, take rest and avoid staying up late, wear loose and comfortable clothes, and exercise properly to strengthen your body.
