What is the difference between IVF and in vitro fertilization?

Definition: IVF is in vitro fertilization-embryo transfer. It is the removal of eggs and sperm, in vitro fertilization, and then transfer of early embryos to the woman’s uterus for them to settle and develop. The follow-up process is the same as a natural pregnancy. This technique was invented in 1978 by Professor Edowrds (2010 Nobel Laureate in Medicine) and has been developed over 30 years to become a mature technique for assisting pregnancy. We often refer to the IVF technique as one that uses the wife’s eggs and the husband’s sperm to assist in conception. The most important difference between donor IVF and IVF is that the source of sperm is different. Sperm for IVF comes from a sperm bank and is donated by a healthy volunteer after a series of tests and qualifications. Process: The process of IVF technology is roughly as follows: pre-conception check-ups à descending regulation à ovulation promotion à egg retrieval, sperm retrieval à embryo culture à embryo transfer à post-transfer luteal support à pregnancy test. The process of IVF with donor sperm is basically the same as the IVF process we often talk about, except that the sperm retrieval step is replaced by thawed semen. Success rate: The sperm provided by the sperm bank is strictly screened, so the quality of the semen used in IVF is higher than the social average, and the clinical pregnancy rate of IVF with sperm donor is higher than that of IVF with husband. Hospitals that can carry out IVF: IVF technology is a restricted use technology, the state has strict approval for this technology and limited the number of fertility centers, currently there are about 10 assisted reproduction institutions in Hunan that can carry out it. Sperm source: The sperm for IVF assisted conception usually comes from the husband, and the sperm for IVF assisted conception comes from the national sperm bank. Due to the tight sperm source, many hospitals need to wait in line for sperm donation.
