Do you need to review pneumonia?

In general, after a patient has pneumonia and is in complete remission through standard anti-inflammatory treatment, he or she should still need to be reviewed to determine if he or she has achieved complete cure. In many cases, although the inflammatory response in the lungs has stabilized through standard anti-inflammatory therapy, and the clinical manifestations of the patient, such as cough, sputum, chest tightness, shortness of breath, wheezing, and persistently elevated body temperature, have completely disappeared, the inflammation in the lungs may not have completely dissipated and may still exist. This can be determined clinically by blood tests, ultrasensitive C-reactive protein, and X-rays and CT of both lungs.
