What causes hemorrhoids

The cause of hemorrhoids is not yet clear, there are the theory of anal cushion displacement and varicose veins.
1. The theory of anal cushion displacement: the anal cushion refers to the ring-shaped anal canal vascular cushion under the mucosa of the anal canal, which is composed of veins, smooth muscle and connective tissue. When it is congested, shifted downward and enlarged due to repeated defecation and other reasons, hemorrhoids are formed.
2. Varicose vein theory: veins are the main structure forming the anal cushion, when the venous return is obstructed due to prolonged sitting and standing, pregnancy, constipation, prostate hypertrophy, etc., the venous plexus is pathologically dilated and the blood flow is stagnant, forming venous clusters, which leads to the occurrence of hemorrhoids.
In addition, there are perianal infections, malnutrition, long-term alcohol consumption and other related factors. Clinical manifestations of hemorrhoids include blood in the stool, prolapse of meatballs, itching, pain, swelling and other symptoms. If you have perianal discomfort, it is recommended to go to the hospital for examination, clear diagnosis, and follow the doctor’s instructions for reasonable and standardized treatment.
