Woman with swollen eyelids and swollen fingers

Women with swollen eyelid areas and fingers should suspect nephrogenic oedema. Nephrogenic oedema tends to occur rapidly, starting with swelling of the face and eyelids and spreading rapidly throughout the body, including swelling of the fingers. Patients with such symptoms can go to a regular hospital to have their kidney function and urine tests completed to screen for the cause and provide targeted treatment.
