Chinese medicine says: “identify sweat” can identify disease

Sweating is a natural phenomenon of the human body, the outside temperature is too high will sweat all over the body; nervousness or painful stimulation will sweat on the palms and feet; eat some irritating food will sweat on the face. However, in addition to these three cases, other sweating should not sweat when there is sweating or excessive sweating should be taken seriously. Chinese medicine believes that normal sweating can regulate body temperature, eliminate waste from the body, and regulate the balance of the body’s yin and yang. When the body’s yin and yang are out of balance and the internal organs are dysfunctional, abnormal sweating will occur, so Chinese medicine often judges the condition of the body based on the time, location, amount and characteristics of sweating. The first thing to do is to rule out whether it is due to disease. In general, diabetes, hyperthyroidism, hypertension, congestive heart failure, hemiplegia spinal trauma, tumors, tuberculosis, etc. can cause abnormal sweating with obvious corresponding symptoms. In such cases, the condition must be promptly controlled, and the excessive sweating condition can then be resolved. Of course, more often than not, the condition is abnormal sweating without obvious disease symptoms, which are summarized as follows. One type of sweating is excessive sweating during the day. Whether winter or summer, sweating often occurs during the day without activity or with light activity. These people often have weakness, low speech, poor appetite, easy to catch a cold, etc., which is considered by Chinese medicine as a manifestation of qi deficiency. These people can choose yam, soy milk, beef and mutton in their diet, or stewed chicken or cavity bones with party ginseng or astragalus to nourish the organism and relieve qi deficiency. You can also strengthen your body through exercises with soothing movements and a combination of movement and stillness, such as practicing taijiquan and baduanjin. The other is sweating at night. Sweating while sleeping and waking up to stop sweating is called “night sweating” in Chinese medicine. These people often have hot hands and feet, irritable heart, red and hot face, dry mouth and throat, etc., which is considered by Chinese medicine as a manifestation of yin deficiency. These people can choose lily, pear and other nourishing Yin products, eat less lamb, onion, onion, ginger, garlic and other hot food, but also can use sage, maidenhair, schisandra or American ginseng to drink water. According to the sweating parts: a. excessive head sweat, if the head and face sweat after overeating, at the same time feel the upper abdomen full, thirsty, do not want to eat, most of the accumulation of food, can be reduced by reducing the amount of food, eat a light diet to relieve, can also eat some digestive drugs; if accompanied by heavy limbs, stomach distension, want to vomit, body fever, thick and yellow tongue moss, is the spleen and stomach has the performance of damp heat, should pay attention to a light diet. It is normal for children to have slight head sweat during sleep; however, if it is accompanied by insubstantial sleep, restlessness, easy to frighten, and thinning hair, it should be promptly diagnosed and treated. In addition, the elderly and women who are weak after childbirth may also have excessive head sweating, which mostly belongs to qi deficiency. Second, excessive sweating in the heart of the hands and feet, if excessive sweating in the heart of the hands and feet accompanied by heat in the heart of the hands and feet, dryness of the mouth and throat, etc., mostly belong to Yin deficiency with heat; if excessive sweating in the heart of the hands and feet accompanied by painful bloating in the abdomen and inability to pass stool, mostly belong to heat evidence of accumulation of feces in the intestines, can take laxative; if excessive sweating in the heart of the hands and feet accompanied by dry mouth, swollen and painful gums, etc., mostly belong to stomach heat, can take Chinese herbs to clear stomach heat, such as Niuhuang Qing Stomach Pill, Qing Stomach Huanglian Pill, etc. Third, the heart fossa and chest sweating, mostly seen in some brain workers, these people are often accompanied by mental lethargy, loss of appetite, poor sleep, dreamy performance, belong to excessive thinking, resulting in heart and spleen deficiency, can be through appropriate exercise, such as jogging, taijiquan, eight duanjin, etc., to relieve stress and regulate the mind and body. Identify by smell: normal sweat has no obvious fishy smell, if the sweat smells fishy, it is mostly related to heat evidence or damp-heat evidence, which is liver heat, and this condition can be treated by a light diet, or by using Chinese herbal medicine such as chrysanthemum and insecticide to make water; if the fishy smell is obvious, you should seek medical consultation. In addition, if there is a lot of sweating, thirst, dizziness, chest tightness, nausea, panic, weakness of the limbs, tinnitus, lack of concentration, and elevated body temperature in the hot and stuffy summer environment, it is generally a precursor of heat stroke, which should be promptly transferred to a cool and ventilated place and supplemented with some light salt water, which can be restored to normal within a short period of time; if the symptoms cannot be restored or are serious, seek medical attention. In addition to the above, there are some sweating manifestations, such as sweat color changes, yellow sweat, red sweat, black sweat, etc. This situation needs to be diagnosed and treated by a doctor after comprehensive judgment. If a seriously ill patient suddenly sweats profusely, has cold extremities, weak breathing or profuse sweating and shortness of breath, it is a sign of a dangerous condition. In conclusion, once abnormal sweating is serious or accompanied by other serious manifestations, prompt medical consultation should be sought.
