The chance of recurrence after spleen preservation surgery is low. Recurrence may be related to the loss of blood scabs from the surgical wound, external impact on the surgical site, etc. Treatment after recurrence depends on the patient’s clinical presentation. For low bleeding, conservative treatment is an option, and for heavy bleeding, the entire remaining spleen is removed.
