Causes and treatment of ingrown eyelashes

Normal eyelashes with mild ectropion do not touch the cornea or conjunctiva. When there is inflammation or eye muscle spasm that may cause the eyelashes to turn inward, the eyelashes may poke the cornea or conjunctiva causing the corresponding irritation symptoms. Therefore, it is important to address the cause of the problem if there are ingrown eyelashes, such as eye redness, eye pain or conjunctivitis, to eliminate the inflammation and relieve the eye muscle spasm so that the eyelashes can return to their normal shape. If the eyelashes do not return to their normal shape after a long period of time, treatment can be considered. If the amount of eyelashes is high, you can consider corrective surgery for entropion, which then allows the eyelashes to grow outward so that they do not irritate the cornea or conjunctiva.
