Common causes of tearing in children – impingement

  1. Performance: Inverted eyelashes are eyelashes that turn in the direction of the eye and touch the corneal conjunctiva, which can cause photophobia, tearing, and increased local secretions in children. 2. Common causes: It is often caused by congenital entropion of the lid, mostly in the lower lid. Most congenital lid entropion is caused by an inner canthus, overdevelopment of the orbicularis muscle at the lid margin, or underdevelopment of the lid plate. 3. Treatment: Since congenital entropion tends to heal itself, mild entropion and impingement do not require surgery and can be treated by local massage of the lower lid; if the discharge is obvious: you can order erythromycin eye ointment every night. If it does not heal on its own by the age of 5 to 6, it can be corrected surgically.
