Do Adnexal Cysts Shrink After Menopause

Adnexal cysts may shrink after menopause. Adnexal cysts may be related to physiological factors, and may also be caused by strong hormone secretion in the body. Physiological cysts may disappear on their own, while pathological cysts may not disappear on their own, but when they reach the menopause, due to the decrease in estrogen level in the body, the growth of cysts may be affected, so some patients may experience symptoms of shrinkage of adnexal cysts after the menopause. Clinically, adnexal cysts require active medical treatment. If the adnexal cysts are small, there is usually no need for excessive treatment, and regular checkups are sufficient. However, if the adnexal cysts are large, surgery may be needed to remove the cysts so as not to affect the later stages of life.
