Is a sore glans and herpes a wart?

Not necessarily. Warts are mainly caused by infection with the HPV virus. When infected with the HPV virus, warts appear on the genital area of the patient and may resemble herpes in the early stages but have cauliflower-like changes in the later stages. The painful glans with herpes is usually caused by genital herpes, which can be accompanied by pus and painful glans symptoms.
