Cervical pain is not cancer, but patients with cervical cancer can present with symptoms of cervical pain. Causes of cervical pain include cervical inflammation, cervical laceration, pelvic stasis syndrome and cervical cancer. Early stage cervical cancer is mostly painless, while advanced stage cervical cancer may show painful symptoms due to necrosis of tumour tissue, secondary infection or invasion of surrounding tissues.
