  Injectable antiepileptic drugs are preferred on the day after surgery, and oral antiepileptic drugs can be resumed after eating; within one week after surgery, some patients may have increased seizure frequency and/or change in seizure form on the day after surgery, and generally do not change the antiepileptic drug treatment regimen for the time being; the reasons should be analyzed and treated accordingly; if the same form of seizure as before surgery or a new seizure type still occurs within 2 to 4 weeks after surgery, seizure In principle, if there are no seizures (including no aura seizures) for 2 years or more after surgery, slow reduction and discontinuation of antiepileptic drugs can be considered under the guidance of a physician. Long-range EEG is reviewed before discontinuation and discontinuation is not recommended when there are still significant epileptiform discharges on the EEG. The taper process lasts 6 months or longer for monotherapy; for polypharmacy, only 1 drug is tapered at a time, and the taper process for each drug lasts at least 6 months.
