By what means is the new coronavirus transmitted?

The main mode of transmission of novel coronavirus is through respiratory droplet transmission, but also through contact transmission. Contact transmission usually occurs when a normal person does not wash his or her hands thoroughly after touching something contaminated with the virus and then rubs his or her eyes or picks his or her nose, allowing the virus to enter the mucous membranes of the mouth, eyes, nose, etc., leading to infection. Recent studies have found that coronaviruses can also be transmitted by the fecal-oral route, so frequent hand washing is needed for good protection. Currently, there is not enough evidence that the novel coronavirus can be transmitted vertically from mother to fetus.
