Patients are usually advised to visit the hospital when they develop the symptoms. If there is only a small amount of vaginal bleeding and no other symptoms, the patient should be kept under observation. If there is pain in the lower abdomen, heavy bleeding, increased leucorrhoea and systemic symptoms such as nausea and chills, prompt medical attention is recommended.
