Depending on the severity and stage of the lesion, the appropriate topical drug form is chosen; topical zinc oxide oil can be used when there is a small amount of exudate; a cold wet compress of 3% boric acid solution can be used when there is significant exudate. In the subacute stage, glucocorticoid cream can be used topically when there is no exudate; in the case of a small amount of exudate, glucocorticoid paste or zinc oxide oil can be used topically; in the case of infection, antibiotics such as mupirocin can be used topically. In the chronic phase, topical glucocorticoid ointment can be used.
