What is a nodule and the difference between a lipoma and a nodule

Nodule is the general name of a class of diseases, is the concept of morphology, including benign nodules and malignant nodules, lipoma is a benign tumor lesion caused by adipose tissue proliferation, belongs to benign nodules.
Benign nodules include lipomas, sebaceous cysts, fibromas, etc. Lipomas occur in the chest and back and limbs of obese people, manifested as nodular masses under the skin, with soft texture, good mobility, no pain or discomfort, and the smaller size of the lipomas need no treatment. For larger, multiple or functional lipomas, surgical excision is required.
Sebaceous cysts and fibromas are usually single, hard, clear boundary, good mobility, and painful when pressed. Sebaceous cysts are prone to secondary infection and abscess formation, and require surgical treatment once found.
Malignant nodules are usually single, hard, unclear boundary, poor mobility, no obvious pain when pressing, in many cases it is not easy to judge the nature of nodules through the shape of nodules, therefore, once found nodules, need to consult the doctor in time to clarify the nature of nodules, to avoid delaying the condition.
