Are Liver Lipomas Dangerous?

Hepatic lipoma is a benign tumor originating from mesenchymal tissues, usually without malignant changes, and is mainly seen in middle-aged and elderly obese women over 40 years of age, which generally has no serious harm to the body and has a good prognosis.
Liver lipoma is usually asymptomatic and is often found during physical examination. Only when the tumor is large, there will be epigastric discomfort, and a few may have abdominal pain due to bleeding from the tumor. Surgical resection is the mainstay of hepatic lipoma. Smaller lipomas can be temporarily observed and regularly rechecked, and if they increase significantly in size in the short term, they can be improved by surgical treatment.
It is suggested that patients with hepatic lipoma should quit smoking and drinking in time, take a light diet, have regular checkups, and standardize the treatment under the guidance of doctors.
