After the patient has a convulsion, the family or surrounding personnel should immediately call an ambulance, and the following emergency methods can be taken before the arrival of a doctor: 1. Immediately lay the patient down flat, with the head tilted to the side and slightly backward, the neck slightly elevated, loosen the patient’s tie, belt, etc., and take care not to drop the patient on the ground; 2. Quickly clear the mouth, nose, throat secretions and vomit to ensure a smooth airway and prevent the tongue from falling back. Avoid stuffing the patient’s mouth with gauze or towels to avoid blocking the airway and damaging the teeth, and also avoid pinching and pressing the acupuncture points such as Renzhong and Hegu with fingers; 3. Empty the patient’s surrounding objects to prevent the patient from colliding with the surrounding hard objects during violent convulsions, and never use strong pressure on the convulsing limbs to avoid fractures; 4. This may lead to death by asphyxiation. Do not put your finger into the patient’s mouth because of anxiety, so as not to bite the finger and bleed, causing the patient to choke and cough or even suffocate.
