Follicular thyroid tumors can be classified into benign and malignant, and malignant follicular thyroid tumors are cancers called follicular thyroid carcinoma. Follicular thyroid tumors are generally classified into benign and malignant ones. Benign ones are called follicular thyroid adenomas, while malignant ones are called follicular thyroid carcinomas, which are mainly caused by dietary factors, hereditary factors, environmental factors, and disorders of thyroid hormones, and so on. When the follicular thyroid tumor is small, there is usually no obvious discomfort, so no special treatment can be given and regular follow-up and checkups are enough. If the tumor is large in size, causing vague pain in the anterior neck area, pressure and other uncomfortable symptoms, puncture biopsy should be carried out. If the tumor is malignant, surgical treatment is needed, as well as a series of treatments such as iodine 131 treatment and levothyroxine replacement therapy.
