Which department should I go to if my child has excessive night urination?

Children with excessive nocturnal enuresis should be seen by a paediatrician. The symptoms of nocturnal enuresis in children can be caused by a variety of factors and may even be a normal physiological phenomenon. A visit to a paediatrician and its subordinate departments:can provide more professional guidance on diagnosis, treatment and medication.
It is important to note that the amount of medical assistance available varies between hospitals of different sizes and grades.
For example, in hospitals below Grade IIA, paediatrics is generally not a separate department and patients can be seen in the paediatrics department. In hospitals above Grade 2A and some children’s hospitals, paediatrics is generally divided into different departments such as paediatric respiratory medicine, paediatric gastroenterology, paediatric neurology, paediatric urology, paediatric nephrology and paediatric cardiology. Patients can be promptly referred to a department after a visit to the paediatric urology department if, after initial examination and diagnosis, nocturia is found to be caused by other diseases.
