What causes esophageal squamous epithelial hyperplasia?

Esophageal squamous epithelial hyperplasia is associated with diet, infection, reflux esophagitis, esophageal polyps, esophageal cancer and other diseases. There are squamous epithelial cells on the surface of normal esophagus, and compensatory hyperplasia will occur due to diet, infection, inflammation and other factors. 1. Diet: due to the friction of food, the squamous epithelium will have the process of repair and renewal. 2. Infection: such as Helicobacter pylori infection and fungal infection. These factors can trigger esophageal mucosal lesions, and the squamous epithelial cells on the esophageal mucosa will have compensatory hyperplasia in response to such lesions. 3. Diseases: e.g. reflux esophagitis, esophageal polyps, esophageal cancer. When the esophageal mucosa exists edema, erosion, ulceration, swelling, etc., the squamous epithelial cells on the esophageal mucosa will also proliferate, and inflammatory cell infiltration, tumor cells, columnar epithelial cells and other changes can be seen. For the case of esophageal squamous epithelial hyperplasia, it is recommended to be analyzed by the doctor in conjunction with symptoms, esophagoscopy and other comprehensive analysis.
