Cure the disease and tertiary prevention and treatment of malignant tumors Abstract Cure the disease is a high summary of the preventive medicine idea of TCM, which has a very important significance in the prevention and diagnosis of diseases. For the prevention and treatment of malignant tumors, TCM is guided by the idea of “treating the disease before it occurs”, giving full play to the advantages of TCM and using appropriate TCM techniques for the tertiary prevention of malignant tumors. Key words: cure for the disease; malignant tumor; prevention and treatment 1. The current situation of malignant tumor incidence and harm Since 2006, malignant tumor death has become the first cause of death in both urban and rural areas of China. The 2012 China Cancer Annual Report shows that the incidence rate of tumors in China is 285.91/100,000, with an average of 6 people being diagnosed with malignant tumors every minute, an average of 1.5 million new cancer cases and 800,000 deaths from cancer every year. Based on the current trend of cancer incidence, it is expected that by 2020, the global cancer incidence will increase by 50% compared to today, and the number of new cancer patients will reach 15 million each year. The detection of malignant tumors is often late, and the patients spend a lot of money with little effect, and suffer physically and mentally, causing heavy economic burden and psychological trauma to individuals, families and society, which is a major disease seriously endangering human health. Since the causes of malignant tumors are still not clear and there is no effective treatment method, prevention has become the key to reduce the incidence and control the development of tumors. According to modern medicine, tumor prevention and treatment includes three levels of preventive measures: primary prevention is to reduce the incidence rate and prevent the disease before it happens; secondary prevention is to promote three early stages and prevent the disease at the beginning; tertiary prevention is to improve the cure rate and reduce the mortality rate. More than 2,000 years ago, the Yellow Emperor’s Classic of Internal Medicine pointed out that “the sage does not treat the sick before they get sick; he does not treat the chaotic before they get chaotic”. The idea of “treating the untreated disease” includes: 1) nourishing the body before the disease and preventing the disease beforehand; 2) saving the disease and preventing the disease gradually; 3) treating the disease early and preventing its transformation; 4) regulating the disease after the disease and preventing its recurrence. These can be used as the basic principles of prevention and treatment of malignant tumor disease, which are similar to the tertiary prevention of tumor in modern medicine. The Yellow Emperor’s Classic of Internal Medicine points out that “if a disease has been established and then the medicine is given, and if chaos has been established and then the cure is given, it is like wearing a well when thirsty, or casting a cone when fighting, it is not too late”, which is the best interpretation of the occurrence and development of malignant tumor. 2.1 Treating the disease before it happens and primary prevention of tumor The primary prevention of tumor is the etiological prevention, which is an important part of tumor prevention and control. Modern medicine emphasizes that daily life should try to: correct bad habits, improve diet and nutrition structure, establish a healthy lifestyle and enhance self-care awareness. Correspondingly, the Chinese medicine of nourishing the body before the disease and preventing the disease before it occurs refers to taking appropriate measures to block or delay the occurrence of tumors before they occur. The Yellow Emperor’s Classic of Internal Medicine says: “The ancient people, who knew the law of yin and yang, and in the art of number, eating and drinking in a disciplined manner, living in a regular manner, not delusional labor, so that the form and spirit, and the end of its natural life, and a hundred years before leaving”, is the true meaning of health care and disease prevention. It is to guide people to improve their physique and maintain the body’s vitality to prevent diseases by regulating their emotions, adapting work and leisure, diet and living carefully. Physique refers to the comprehensive and relatively stable inherent traits of the human body in terms of morphological structure, physiological function and psychological state, which are formed on the basis of innate endowment and acquired by the human body in the course of life. These traits determine the adaptability of certain morphological and physiological characteristics to the natural and social environment and the resistance to diseases, as well as the susceptibility to diseases and the tendency to suffer from illnesses. Therefore, it is more important to distinguish the physique of the population to prevent susceptible diseases, and it is an effective method to prevent and treat many chronic diseases based on the physique of some patients. For example, clinical research has found that liver cancer, stomach cancer, etc. mostly belong to stagnant blood constitution and those with high blood viscosity. For malignant tumors, which are difficult to treat, the focus of prevention and treatment should be placed on the stage of untreated diseases. 2.2 Treating untreated diseases and secondary prevention of tumors Secondary prevention of tumors is mainly about early diagnosis, early detection and early treatment. It requires extensive screening and screening of tumor, monitoring of tumor high-risk groups, establishment of health records, regular follow-up medical checkups, and improvement of early diagnosis. Modern medicine believes that it takes about 8 to 10 years from the involvement of carcinogenic substances in human metabolism to the development of carcinoma in situ. The formation of cancer cells from the proliferation and growth of primary foci to distant metastatic cancer foci has to go through a long journey and many biological strain stages, as long as they are hindered at a certain stage, the occurrence and metastasis of cancer will not be formed. “To save the disease from sprouting, to prevent microscopic and gradual; to treat both disease early and to prevent its transformation,” is to emphasize the accurate grasp of the timing of tumor prevention and treatment, which guides the prevention and treatment strategies in different stages of tumor. Clinical interventions such as dialectical and physical treatment, acupuncture, acupuncture, tui-na, etc., adopted in Chinese medicine to regulate the physiological state of the body, unblock the qi and blood, and balance the yin and yang, can make It can reverse the growth of cancer before it takes shape or stop it from the source of cancer. Especially for precancerous lesions, such as atypical hyperplasia, hyperplasia and atrophic gastritis of esophageal epithelium, chronic hepatitis and liver cirrhosis, colon polyps, hyperplasia and hyperplasia of bronchial epithelium, etc., there are no well-targeted treatment measures, and the effect is not as desired or even nothing can be done, but TCM can give active treatment to prevent its further development. Chinese medicine can give active treatment to prevent its further development and delay its occurrence to the greatest extent possible, thus achieving the effect of “drawing in the bud first, not after the great danger”. It can effectively prevent the development of tumor. The goal of tertiary prevention of tumor is to prevent the deterioration of the disease and prevent disability. Its task is to adopt multidisciplinary comprehensive diagnosis and treatment, in order to extinguish cancer as early as possible, try to restore function, promote recovery, prolong life and improve quality of life. Correspondingly, “post-milligram regulation and prevention of its recurrence,” refers to taking appropriate measures to prevent tumor metastasis and recurrence after malignant tumors are cured. After radical surgery or standardized radiotherapy, tumors still have a certain recurrence rate. According to Chinese medicine, although the symptoms disappear when the disease is first cured, the evil qi is not yet exhausted, the positive qi is not yet restored, the qi and blood are not yet settled, and the yin and yang are not yet leveled, so attention should be paid to cultivating the positive qi and regulating the function of internal organs after the disease. On the premise of treating the patient with evidence, we should apply the method of medicine in food and bait, which is welcomed by the patient, to support the positive energy, stimulate the stomach energy, promote appetite, enhance the immune function and improve the general condition, which is also one of the important means of “treating the untreated disease” and preventing metastasis. In tumor treatment, traditional Chinese medicine is often used in combination with surgery, radiotherapy and other comprehensive treatment methods, which can significantly reduce the side effects of treatment and increase the patient’s ability to resist disease. The use of TCM to adjust the balance of yin and yang in human body and restore its relative balance can effectively prevent the transmission and metastasis of tumor. 3. Conclusion The theory of Chinese medicine for treating untreated diseases is obviously ahead of its time, which fully reflects the preventive thinking of Chinese medicine of preventing problems before they occur and preventing them. It has great significance in the prevention and treatment of malignant tumors today. In particular, in the stage of prevention and treatment, TCM preventive health care techniques such as acupuncture point application, acupuncture, massage and medicine can be used to regulate the physiological state of the body, improve the immune function of the body and adjust the internal environment of the body, so that the body can achieve the purpose of “the righteousness can be kept inside, and the evil cannot dry up”.
