Can you do physical work with tuberculosis?

Patients with tuberculosis should not do physical work if they are in the active stage. Patients who are recovering or cured of TB can do some physical work, but try not to do too heavy physical work. For patients with active tuberculosis, the symptoms of systemic toxicity due to Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection are heavy, and the patients have wasting, weakness, and loss of appetite, etc. In this case, if they continue to do manual work, the body’s resistance may be further reduced, and it is not easy to control the disease. For recovered or cured TB patients, they can do some physical work, and appropriate activities are good for them, but they should avoid strenuous and excessive physical work, otherwise the TB may come back.
