Is nasopharyngeal cancer caused by blood in the nose?

Blood in the nose may be a manifestation of nasopharyngeal carcinoma, but it is generally uncommon and more often caused by other reasons, which needs specific analysis in each case.

Firstly, it may be caused by recurrent infection caused by dryness or inflammation of nasal mucosa, and the breakage of mucosa and capillaries, which generally results in less bleeding and blood in nasal mucosa. However, if a patient has blood in the nasal aspirate, accompanied by headache, unilateral nasal congestion, tinnitus and other symptoms, he/she should be alert to nasopharyngeal cancer.

It is suggested that patients with blood in nasal discharge should go to ENT department of hospital for examination in time, and after excluding pathological factors, pay attention to indoor moisturizing and avoid bad habits, the situation of blood in nasal discharge can usually be improved sooner.
