China’s use of gold needles, silver needles to treat injuries and illnesses for a long time, acupuncture analgesia and even the treatment of pain is widely spread to the world. However, the unique long-term efficacy of silver needle acupuncture therapy in the treatment of pain is little known, it is only in the southern folk doctors in the use of a single tradition. The use of intensive silver needle acupuncture treatment can achieve significant results (only one treatment for each lesion) for intractable pain that is difficult to be cured by general physical therapy and medication and that requires surgical release surgery. So far, this “needle instead of knife” treatment method has been rapidly spread to many medical units across the country. In a sense, the silver needle therapy looks like acupuncture, but still follows the principle of “rather lose its points, not follow its meridians”, but is actually a loosening surgery, and has become a unique branch of modern acupuncture therapy. The indications for silver needle therapy are as follows: 1. chronic pain caused by soft tissue damage outside the cervical or lumbar spinal canal: neck, shoulder and arm pain, waist, hip and leg pain, head and facial pain, frozen shoulder, knee pain and heel pain. 2. clinical syndromes of vascular nerve involvement associated with soft tissue damage: 2. contraindications 1. severe cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease, renal failure. 2. Menstruation, pregnancy or anemia debilitation. 3. Blood disorders such as thrombocytopenia or those with bleeding tendencies. III Prepare to introduce the needling procedure to the patient and obtain cooperation. Prepare needle tools and sterile cotton balls. IV Precautions 1. In the same lesion area usually do only one acupuncture treatment, multiple lesion area treatment, the interval of 2 to 3 weeks is appropriate. Because the human soft tissue will undergo a stress adjustment after the silver needle needling, especially the neighboring parts of the performance of obvious muscle tension, while the needling site is often in a state of muscle relaxation. 2. the cervical and thoracic spine lesions extensor muscle groups, especially the scapula spine edge attached to the soft tissue needling should be particularly careful, do not stab the pleura or spinal nerve. Other parts of the cervical and thoracic spine and the supraclavicular fossa soft tissue lesion area are contraindicated for silver needle treatment.3. Silver needle treatment does not require the use of acupuncture techniques to produce tonic and diarrheal effects, nor does it require strong stimulation techniques to produce analgesic effects. Because intensive needling method can produce significant analgesic effect and muscle relaxation effect.
