Normally, contractions of the uterus occur after childbirth, causing intermittent uterine pain with vaginal bleeding and discharge of malodour.
However, persistent uterine pain after one month after delivery is a cause for complications during labour, such as endometritis and uterine adhesion syndrome, and requires hospital consultation to identify the cause and provide targeted treatment.
