Dark brown menstruation is mostly a manifestation of blood stasis, which is mostly caused by Qi stagnation, cold condensation and Qi deficiency. Yunnan Baiyao has the efficacy of resolving blood stasis and stopping bleeding, activating blood circulation and relieving pain (relieving pain by removing blood stasis), detoxifying and subduing swelling, and can generally be applied if women do not have other accompanying symptoms or underlying diseases. However, it is not intended to be used as a primary treatment for dark brown menstruation and should be consulted with a medical professional. Yunnan Baiyao is composed of state-secret formula, which can be used for bruises, blood stasis and swelling pain, vomiting blood, coughing blood, hemorrhoidal blood, bleeding (excessive menstrual flow or more than a few drops), sores, swelling and venom, and is often used clinically for soft tissue contusions, closed fractures, bronchodilatation and coughing up blood from tuberculosis, bleeding ulcers and infectious diseases of the skin, etc. It is not recommended for pregnant women, allergic individuals, or people who are not familiar with the treatment of menstruation. Contraindicated in pregnant women, allergies and patients with a history of allergy should be used with caution. A very small number of patients will cause allergic rashes after taking the drug, chest tightness, panic, abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting, generalized itching, hives on the trunk and limbs and other parts of the body. If the menstrual period is dark brown, it is recommended to go to the regular hospital for treatment in time.
