Misconception 1: Patients cannot have children after pituitary surgery.
The current transnasal minimally invasive surgery basically does not affect the function of the pituitary gland and will not cause the pituitary gland to be low-functioning, so there is no problem of not being able to have children after surgery.
Myth 2: Transnasal surgery is not as good as open surgery, and the tumor cannot be cut cleanly.
More than 97% of tumors grow under the saddle, and only transnasal surgery can cure such pituitary tumors, while craniotomy is only suitable for 3% of tumors that grow purely on the saddle.
