Diabetes and hypoglycemia are two different diseases, and it does not mean that hypoglycemia necessarily means diabetes, but there is some connection between the two. Hypoglycemia is a group of clinical syndromes with multiple causes of lowered blood glucose levels and corresponding symptoms and signs, which will subside when blood glucose levels recover. Hypoglycemia can occur in both diabetic and non-diabetic patients, and is itself a complication of diabetes. Diabetes is a group of diseases caused by multiple causes and characterized by chronic elevation of blood glucose, the causes of which are relatively diverse and divided into various types. Hyperglycemia is a typical characteristic of diabetes, but it is not the only manifestation. Diabetic patients may clinically present with high and low blood glucose due to impaired blood glucose regulation, and some patients even come to the clinic with hypoglycemic symptoms. Diabetes mellitus is one of the causes of hypoglycemia, and impaired blood sugar regulation or improper treatment in diabetic patients can cause hypoglycemia. But it is not the only cause. Hypoglycemia is one of the manifestations of diabetes, but it is not the only manifestation. Other diseases can also cause hypoglycemia. Therefore, diabetes and hypoglycemia are closely related, but it is not possible to diagnose diabetes based on hypoglycemia.
