It was 2,300 years ago that an old man traveled around the world with his disciples, treating people’s diseases. One day, after a long journey, they came to the front of a city. Zhang Zaiyi of the Department of Acupuncture and Moxibustion of Shanghai First People’s Hospital “Master! Look.” One of the disciples pointed to the city wall in front of him and said. “The city is noisy with drums and music, as if there is some important activity in the city.” Another disciple went on to say. “The sounds coming from inside the city seem to be music used for rituals, with occasional sounds of shamans dancing. This city is the capital of the State of Guo. I think something has happened in the palace, let’s go in quickly and see.” The master said. The master and his disciples entered the city and went straight ahead. When they reached the palace gate, they saw that people were holding a grand ritual for the prince of Guo, who had recently died of illness. They found the official in charge of managing the education of the sons of the vassal ministers – the middle concubine, who was a hobbyist in the art of prescription and had some medical knowledge. “What disease does the prince have that the state is holding such a big ritual?” The one who was the teacher asked. “The prince’s illness is that the blood qi is not running regularly, the yin and yang are intermingled and cannot be drained, violently bursting out on the surface of the body, causing damage to the internal organs. The body’s positive qi cannot stop the evil qi, which accumulates and cannot be eliminated, so the yang pulse relaxes and the yin pulse is urgent, causing him to suddenly faint and not wake up.” The middle concubine replied. “How long has he been dead?” “From the rooster’s crowing to now.” “Has he been coffined?” “No, the Prince had not passed away for half a day.” “Where is the prince now?” “In the place where he passed away.” “Please tell the king that I am a native of Qin Yue from Bohai County and would like to pay my respects to the king waiting here. I have heard that the prince died tragically and that I can bring him back to life.” “Sir is speaking too absurdly! How can a person come back to life after death.” He said, “I have heard that in ancient times, there was Yu Tarsus who cured the sick without using tonics or liquor, without using needles, stones, or guides, and without using massage or medicine, but by plucking the clothes of the patient, he could know where the sickness was. He follows the five organ infusion points, breaks the skin and dissects the muscle, unblocks the meridians and ties the tendons. He can touch the anatomy, and with his fingers he can unclog the diaphragm. He can cleanse the intestines and stomach, cultivate the essence and change the appearance. If sir has a cure like Yu Tuan, then the prince will be saved. If you can’t have that, you might as well give it to that baby who just can smile!” Hearing the words of the middle concubine, Qin Yueren began to say nothing, and only after a long while did he lift his head up. He looked up at the sky and sighed, “Ai! You only know those methods you mentioned, which are like looking at the sky from a bamboo tube and seeing patterns through the cracks. The method I use, on the other hand, is able to tell where the disease is without waiting to see the shape, look at the color, hear the sound, or cut the pulse. I can deduce the internal cause of the disease from the external symptoms, and knowing the internal cause, I also know the external appearance. So, you can’t just look at things from one perspective. If you don’t believe what I say, then you can also try to examine the prince, see if there is still the slightest flapping of the prince’s nose, and listen to whether there is still a subtle sound in his ear holes. Also, you can probe from his inner thighs up to the perineum and feel if there is still some residual warmth in that area.” The middle concubine originally did not believe Qin Yueren, but hearing him speak with such certainty, he could not help but run to the crown prince to check, and upon examination, it was indeed no different from what Qin Yueren said. The middle concubine was stunned, “How can this man be so divine? He knows so well.” He felt a little embarrassed, thinking, “Who is this Qin Yueren? Qin Yueren, a native of Zheng (Renqiu, Hebei) in Bohai County, also known as Shaoqi, worked in an inn when he was young. When he was young, he was working in an inn. A guest named Changsang came to stay with him, and the Qin Yueren thought he was very unique, not like an ordinary person, so he treated him with great care. He also saw that Qin Yueren was not an ordinary person. More than ten years after leaving the inn, Chang Sang Jun called Qin Yue Ren aside and said quietly, “I have the secret recipe book, I am old and want to pass it to you, you must keep it well and must not leak it out.” “My disciple obeys.” Qin Yueren happily answered. “This is my entire secret collection, you must read it carefully and figure it out carefully.” Saying that, Changsangjun took out the secret recipe book and handed it to Qin Yueren. After receiving the book, Qin Yueren read it carefully, understood the meaning of every paragraph and sentence in the book, and knew it by heart, and soon began to diagnose people and put what he had learned into practice, with excellent results. The Qin Yue people practiced medicine, sometimes in one vassal state and sometimes in another, and were praised as the miracle doctor Bian Magpie because of their excellent medical skills, which were comparable to the legendary Bian Magpie of the Xuan Yuan era. During the reign of Duke Zhaoge of Jin, the power of the ruler’s clan was weak, while the power of the dafu was strong. Among them, Zhao Jianzi was the head of the court and he was in charge of the state affairs. Unexpectedly, Zhao Jianzi fell ill and did not wake up for five consecutive days. The great officials were terrified that the power would return to the clan and weaken their existing interests. So, they summoned the Qin and Yue people to the palace to treat Zhao Jianzi’s illness. When the Qin Yueren came out after seeing Zhao Jianzi’s illness, he was called by his minister Dong Anyu. Dong Anyu asked, “How is the doctor’s illness?” The Qin Yueren replied, “The bloodline is normal, there is nothing to be alarmed about! In the past, Duke Qin Mu once had such an illness and woke up in seven days. His illness is the same as Duke Qin Mu’s, and he will surely get better in less than three days.” After two and a half days, Zhao Jianzi did wake up …… The Qin Yue people were such godly people. After being stunned by the miraculous judgment of Qin Yue Ren, Zhong Shu Zi was flabbergasted for a long time before, waking up, he thought of what he had to do, and he hurried to the inner room to report to the king of the state. The ruler had heard of Bian Magi, and when he heard this, he hurriedly got out of bed, not even bothering to put on his shoes, and ran out the door barefoot. When he saw him, the king said, “I’ve heard a lot about you, sir. It’s a pleasure to meet you! Thanks to your arrival, the prince could live. If you, sir, had not come here, then the prince would have been dead, and could only be buried and buried, and could never come back ……”. The king was in a trance, his language was upside down and repetitive, and before he finished speaking, his tears flowed in bunches, and he could not contain his grief. The Qin Yueren said, “The prince’s illness, called corpse syncope, is a kind of fake death. The prince is not actually dead yet, his appearance is due to the Yang Qi caught in the Yin vein and blocked the dirty Qi. The Yang Qi attacking into the Yin vein and blocking the dirty Qi can be cured, but if the Yin Qi attacking into the Yang vein and blocking the dirty Qi, it will be difficult to save one’s life. In the case of the prince, the attack will occur suddenly when the five viscera are reversed. Highly skilled doctors can cure this disease; ordinary doctors who are confused by not understanding the inner causes put the patient in an extremely dangerous situation.” When he had finished speaking, he turned around, greeted several young men who had come forward, and said to the king of the country, “These are some disciples who have followed me. Come together and heal the prince!” “Sir, please!” The middle concubine led them with the king of the state to the room where the prince was lying in state. Hairiness The Qin Yueren sat down at the prince’s bedside and examined the prince’s illness. When disciple Zi Bao entered, he set up the medicine pot. “Ziyang, you prick the crown prince’s three yang and five meetings!” During the consultation, Qin Yue Ren ordered his disciple Zi Yang to use a sharp needle to pierce the “three yang and five meeting” points of the crown prince. Zi Yang went to the crown prince’s bed, measured the position of his acupuncture points, and stabbed down. After a short time, the crown prince slowly opened his eyes. “Zi Bao, give the crown prince a warm iron!” Seeing that the prince had awakened, Yue Ren immediately ordered Zi Bao to give him a hot iron. Zi Bao used the eight minus doses to warm the Prince’s two hypochondrium, so that the warmth of the medicine penetrated five points deep into his body. When Zhong Shu Zi saw that the prince had risen from the dead, he thought of the rituals in front of the palace gate and rushed out. When he reached the palace gate, he yelled to the officials attending the ceremony, “The crown prince has woken up! The prince has awakened!” These officials in turn shouted to the crowd attending the event, “The prince has awakened! The prince has awakened!” The sound of drums, dances, invocations and the cacophony of the crowd soon subsided into silence. I don’t know who suddenly beat the drums and drove the music again. But this time it changed to an upbeat tune, and the field came alive with joy. After that, the Qin Yue people regulated the Prince’s yin and yang, and the Prince took medicine for more than 20 days, and he was all cured. The news of the prince’s recovery spread all over the place, and people talked about it, saying that the magpie could bring the dead back to life, while the Qin Yueren said, “How can I have the ability to come back from the dead, but only that he himself could live, and through my treatment, he was restored to health sooner.” The acupuncture point used by the Qin Yue people for Prince Guo’s acupuncture was called “San Yang Wu Hui”, and the Bai Hui point also had an alias “San Yang Wu Hui”. Baihui is located on the front and back median line, directly above the tips of the two ears. The reason for the nickname “Sanyang Wuhui” is that the point is where the three meridians of the Sun, Shaoyang, and Shaoyang pass through, and where they intersect with the Dou and Conjunctive Yin meridians. Some people also through the Mian Yang Shuangbaoshan Han tomb excavated by the Fushui meridian wooden man to give interpretation, meridian wooden man, the hand Turk’s Yin vein through the side of the neck on the face of the head, over the ear straight up to the top, over the three yang into five will, left and right meeting in the Governor. That is, the most special part of the wood man is that the left and right sides of the hand Turk’s Yin Vessel goes straight up to the top of the head and meets and terminates in the Governor’s Vessel, which cuts with the three Yang Vessels (hand Yangming and hand Yangming branch, hand Shaoyang, foot Sun) at the side of the head and forms four points of meeting, and finally terminates in the Governor’s Vessel at “Tongtian” or “Baihui “and becomes another meeting, thus constituting the “three yang and five meetings”. Qin Yue people said “three yang five will”, whether it is a point, or multiple points, people today do not know. As for the eight minus doses, the prescriptions have long been lost, so no one knows anything about them.
