Why ovarian teratomas are prone to tumor tip torsion

Ovarian teratoma can occur because some of the tumors have long tumor tips, medium size, good mobility, and the center of gravity is biased to one side and then the tumor tip reverses. The presence of hair, teeth, fluids, etc. within the ovarian teratoma makes the density of the tumor uneven, and the center of gravity tends to be biased to one side. Moreover, some of the tumor tips are long, and if the patient’s body position suddenly changes, such as rolling over and bending over, it will cause some ovarian teratomas to undergo tip torsion. Ovarian teratoma tip torsion will lead to tumor artery blood flow obstruction, tumor necrosis, rupture or secondary infection. Patients often experience severe pain in one side of the lower abdomen, accompanied by nausea, vomiting and other symptoms. Ovarian cyst torsion is an acute abdominal condition and requires immediate surgical treatment if diagnosed. If the ovarian teratoma patients appear corresponding symptoms, it is recommended to go to the regular hospital in time to diagnose clearly, so as not to delay the condition.
