The doctor will perform a thorough examination of the patient’s armpit and breast in the order of visualization and palpation, including inspecting the patient’s armpit and breast for any swelling.
If there is a swelling, the patient will be taken for further imaging and laboratory tests and, if necessary, histopathological examination. Common tests include blood work, breast ultrasound and mammogram.
