What does non-uniform fatty liver mean

Non-uniform fatty liver, also known as focal fatty liver, pathologically manifests as a localized accumulation of fat in the cells of the liver and is a type of simple fatty liver. Simple fatty liver includes diffuse fatty liver, non-uniform fatty liver and diffuse fatty liver with normal liver islands. The cause of non-uniform fatty liver has not been clarified, and there are usually no obvious clinical manifestations, and non-specific symptoms such as fatigue and loss of appetite may occur. The extent of steatosis in non-uniform fatty liver is focal and can be diagnosed by ultrasound, CT or MRI. Non-uniform fatty liver is a reversible lesion, if the test results are abnormal, it is recommended to consult a doctor in time for targeted treatment or therapy.
