Thalidomide has anti-inflammatory reaction effect, also has anti-prostaglandin, histamine and 5-hydroxytryptamine effect, clinically can be used for the control of verrucous leprosy reaction syndrome, the treatment of Crohn’s disease, multiple myeloma, and graft-versus-host disease. It is not generally used in the treatment of anaphylactic purpura.
Thalidomide has serious teratogenicity to fetus, and is prohibited for pregnant and lactating women. Adverse reactions after use include dryness of mucous membranes of the mouth and nose, lethargy, drowsiness, dizziness and so on. It should be used under the guidance of a doctor.
Allergic purpura treatment commonly used non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as acetaminophen, glucocorticoids such as hydrocortisone, immunosuppressants such as azathioprine, mycophenolate mofetil and other drugs. Drugs should be used under the direction of a physician.
