Can sinus tumors be removed cleanly by endonasal surgery?

Sinus tumors are usually located in the hidden, deep sinuses, and are also prone to invade the adjacent orbits and skull base, making surgical resection difficult. Previous methods of sinus tumor resection include lateral nasal incision, mid-face flip, etc., which are traumatic and have many complications. Advantages of nasal endoscopic surgery to remove sinus tumors: 1. Reaching the lesion site through the natural cavity of nasal sinus, with the help of special surgical instruments, the tumor can be fully exposed and resected; 2. Good illumination, multi-angle vision and magnification of nasal endoscopy are more helpful for complete removal of the tumor; 3. Certain therapeutic efficacy, less trauma and fewer complications. However, not all sinus tumors can be completely resected by nasal endoscopy. In cases where the tumor extends beyond the sinus and invades the surrounding organs, nasal endoscopy combined with auxiliary incision may be required to complete the surgery. Early detection and early treatment is the key to sinus tumor treatment.
