Caring for Women, Keeping Tumors Away

Besides breast cancer (which has been discussed separately), the common malignant tumors in women are gynecological reproductive system malignant tumors, such as cervical cancer, endometrial cancer, ovarian cancer, vulvar cancer, fallopian tube cancer and vaginal cancer. The first three types of cancer are highly prevalent in women, and vulvar cancer ranks fourth among gynecological malignancies, while fallopian tube cancer and vaginal cancer have relatively low incidence in women. In addition, choriocarcinoma and malignant chylothorax, which are related to women’s pregnancy and gestation, also belong to the range of female malignant tumors. In terms of age of incidence, cervical cancer, endometrial cancer and ovarian cancer mostly occur in middle-aged and elderly women, with the high incidence age group being 40 to 60 years old. However, in recent years, the age of onset of female tumors in China has gradually tended to be younger, and some experts speculate that the age of onset of common gynecological malignancies is on average ten years earlier than that of twenty years ago. Ovarian cancer can occur at any age, like asexual cell tumor of ovary which usually occurs in adolescence. Cervical cancer is usually more common in poor and backward areas, but in some developed areas, where sexual life is more open, the incidence of cervical cancer increases and becomes younger. Endometrial cancer and ovarian cancer generally have higher incidence in developed areas. Most female tumors are also related to the level of estrogen, so poor lifestyle and diet are also factors in the development of female tumors. Smoking, especially heavy smoking, may be one of the important causes of cervical cancer. According to epidemiological surveys, the risk of developing this disease in women who smoke increases two times compared to non-smoking women. Nowadays, the standard of living has improved and too much high-fat and high-protein diet can be converted into estrogen, which increases the possibility of ovarian cancer and endometrial cancer. Endometrial cancer is also associated with obesity, hypertension and diabetes, and unreasonable diet is one of the main causes of obesity. Another major cause is hygiene habits, such as cervical cancer and vulvar cancer, which are related to poor hygiene habits, including sexual hygiene. The onset of cervical cancer is related to early sexual life and multiple sexual partners. In addition, cervical cancer is also related to childbirth. Early marriage, early childbirth, having many children, or short intervals can easily lead to cervical cancer. Women’s reproductive system is an eventful place, which is a serious threat to health and life, so we should be alert and take care of it scientifically.
