How long does it usually take to cure reflux esophagitis?

Reflux esophagitis is an inflammatory esophageal lesion caused by the reflux of gastric and duodenal contents into the esophagus, and most of them can be cured, but there are large individual differences in how soon they can be cured. Reflux esophagitis includes both pharmacological and surgical treatment. Medication is applied under the guidance of a physician, and commonly used drugs include acid suppressants, gastrointestinal stimulants, antacids, etc. Most patients can get significantly better in about 1-2 months, and even achieve clinical cure. Some patients are prone to relapse after stopping medication and need maintenance treatment. If drug treatment is not effective, minimally invasive surgery can be considered, which can gradually improve in 3-5 days after surgery and be cured after wound healing. In addition, it is important to reduce the factors that cause the increase of intra-abdominal pressure in daily life, such as constipation and obesity, avoid coffee, strong tea and chocolate, not to lie down immediately after eating, and to abstain from smoking and alcohol in time.
