What are the potential dangers of coronary interventions

In general, with the improvement of techniques and equipment and the accumulation of experience, the risks of coronary interventions have been significantly reduced, where the mortality rate directly related to the operation has been below 1%. However, coronary interventions do have their inherent risks, including: ① Intraoperative death. This is mainly due to severe arrhythmias or acute intraoperative vascular occlusion or acute myocardial infarction. ② Occlusion of a major vessel or important branch vessel treated intraoperatively. ③ Severe arrhythmias, especially ventricular arrhythmias. ④ Acute myocardial infarction. ⑤ Subacute intracoronary thrombosis, often leading to early postoperative myocardial infarction or angina pectoris. ⑥ Vascular complications: including bleeding at the puncture site, hematoma, pseudoaneurysm and aortic coarctation. (7) Coronary artery puncture: it can cause pericardial tamponade. (8) Stent dislodgement or guidewire impaction, which is very rare.
