How much do you know about skin cancer?

The incidence of skin cancer is increasing, and the causes are sun exposure, chronic inflammatory stimulation, genetic mutation, physical stimulation, etc. Some etiologies are still unclear, and pathologies are often seen, such as basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, melanoma, etc. The degree of differentiation is different, and the clinical prognosis of highly differentiated is relatively optimistic, while undifferentiated carcinoma needs special attention. Clinical examination and diagnosis can be done by cytology and pathology, and it is not difficult to diagnose with clinical examination. As for the treatment, since it is a cancer, this disease has the same characteristics as other cancers, it can recur locally and metastasize distantly, but there is no need to worry excessively, most of the patients with skin cancer can be cured. The surgical procedure should conform to the tumor surgery standard. This way patients can benefit more. For example, if the tumor is 3 centimeters and the tumor needs to be resected 3 centimeters from the edge of the tumor according to clinical and pathology, then the safe range of resection should be 9 centimeters in diameter, which has a problem that requires skin grafting, and the skin extraction area needs to be selected, and the one-time skin grafting should be strived to be viable, which requires clinicians to have rich experience. If the skin graft does not survive, the patient’s hospital stay will be prolonged, the economic expenditure will have to increase, and a second skin graft will be required, causing pain to the patient. The failure of the implant does not mean that the surgery is a failure. There may be various reasons for the failure of the implant, such as severe diabetes, original skin disease, etc. However, doctors should know which surgery can be done and which surgery cannot be done, and the discretion to grasp this scale lies with doctors. Many doctors do not have the certainty and experience of skin graft survival, so they try to close the wound directly and ignore the safety scope of surgery, which is not right and should not be done. Skin cancer generally does not require radiotherapy and chemotherapy, and can be treated with improved immunity.
