”Yang’s Acupuncture is one of the most important schools of Chinese medicine in Shanghai. It was formed in the late Qing Dynasty and early Republic of China under the special social and cultural conditions of Shanghai, against the background of the rapid development of commercial economy and the impact of Western medicine. It is not only a deep traditional culture, but also a modern spirit, fully embodying the principles of “tolerance”, “harmony and difference”, “reform and renewal” and “stopping at the highest good”. “It is an important part of the culture of Shanghai. At that time, there were a large number of famous schools of Chinese medicine in Shanghai, such as the Menghe School of Medicine, the East-West Convergence School, the Eight Great Schools of Wound Medicine, and the Three Great Schools of Gynecology, which formed the main characteristics and connotations of the Hai School of Chinese Medicine. Among the famous acupuncturists, Lu Qianyan and Yang Yongxuan are particularly outstanding, and are considered to be the best of their kind. Yang Yongxuan was born in the late Qing Dynasty and early Republican period. At the age of 17, he was trained by Wang Zhenyu, a famous doctor from Tangjia Garden in Pudong, and returned to his hometown after three years of study, practicing medicine in Zhoupu and Sanlingtang for more than ten years, accumulating rich experience. At that time, Baxianqiao concentrated the most famous three Chinese medicine clinics, in addition to Yang Yongxuan, there are Lu thin Yan and Zhuqiao Zhang’s clinic, forming a three-legged triumphalism. Whoever could gain a foothold in Baxianqiao would be famous in Shanghai. In the fierce competition in the industry, Yang Yongxuan was not crushed, but by virtue of his excellent medical skills and good medical ethics, he established his own school. He has also taught his descendants the art of acupuncture and moxibustion, so that Yang’s acupuncture can be passed on to carry forward the traditional medical heritage of his country. Yang’s acupuncture has been handed down for five generations and has a history of more than 100 years, with distinctive medical characteristics, and has become an important academic school in the contemporary Shanghai area. ”Yang’s Acupuncture and Moxibustion” with Yang Yongxuan as the founding patriarch, his son Yang Yifang, his disciples Xu Mingguang, Ye Qiang, Zhang Hongdu, Ge Linbao and his disciple Zhang Zhenhua are the second generation, and the third generation is all over Shanghai, with Li Guoan, Yang Rong and Shen Weidong as its representatives. The main places of activity are Shanghai Shuguang Hospital, Nanhui Central Hospital, Shanghai Institute of Acupuncture, Moxibustion and Meridians, Qigong Institute, Nanhui Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine and so on. The representative treatment technology is “flocculent prick and fire can” therapy. In 2012, in order to conscientiously implement the Opinions of Shanghai Municipal People’s Government on Further Accelerating the Development of Chinese Medicine in Shanghai, actively implement the Three-Year Action Plan for the Development of Chinese Medicine in Shanghai, and promote the clinical inheritance and academic research of Chinese medicine schools, the Municipal Health Bureau and the Municipal Office of Chinese Medicine Development carried out the bidding and selection work for the construction projects of the inheritance and research bases of the Hai School of Chinese Medicine. According to the implementation plan of the genre base construction project, after the preliminary examination and review of the expert committee, as well as the repeated demonstration of the construction plan, 15 TCM schools, including Ding’s internal medicine, were finally included in the construction project of the inheritance research base of the Hai School of TCM. “Yang’s Acupuncture was also honored to be selected. At present, Yang’s Acupuncture and Moxibustion Hai School of Traditional Chinese Medicine Heritage Project Base consists of Shuguang Hospital, Shanghai Pudong Hospital, Shanghai Institute of Qi Gong, and Shanghai Institute of Acupuncture and Moxibustion Meridians. The representative inheritors are Li Guoan, Ge Linbao, Yang Rong, etc. Under the guidance of Yang Yongxuan’s academic ideology, the base inherits the legacy of his ancestors, carries forward the “Yang’s Acupuncture and Moxibustion” based on the principle of homology of acupuncture and medicine, inherits and researches the method of flocculation and cupping, expands the characteristic advantages of the school, and develops the techniques of combining acupuncture and medicine and acupuncture and anesthesia. In addition, the school has been active in the research of academic thought and clinical experience, and has been focusing on extracting and refining the characteristic techniques of the school and using modern scientific methods for clinical verification. At the same time, according to the academic research results of the school, we will expand and strengthen the clinical application, accumulate effective cases, explore the rules of treatment of characteristic techniques, standardize the treatment plan of characteristic techniques, achieve the purpose of promoting and radiating the characteristic techniques of Yang’s school of acupuncture and moxibustion, and carry forward Yang’s acupuncture.
