How can I tell if gastric reflux is causing chronic pharyngitis?

We all know that chronic pharyngitis is a common disease with a high prevalence in adults and particularly favors white-collar workers. The trend is increasing year by year. Chronic pharyngitis can be divided into four types: simple, hypertrophic, atrophic and dry. The symptoms of the four types are roughly the same, including pharyngeal discomfort, foreign body sensation, itching, burning, dryness or irritation, and sometimes a slight pain. The causes of chronic pharyngitis are as follows: 1. incomplete treatment of acute pharyngitis; 2. smoking and drinking; 3. sinusitis infects the pharynx; 4. inflammation of the oral cavity spreads to the pharynx; 5. gastroesophageal reflux gastric acid stimulates the pharynx. Nowadays, it is clinically found that many chronic pharyngitis is caused by gastroesophageal reflux. Because of the high incidence of gastroesophageal reflux disease, which can account for 10%-30% of the normal population, many chronic pharyngitis is caused or aggravated by gastric reflux. Although chronic pharyngitis should not be overly stressed, it should not be taken lightly. Nasopharyngeal cancer has similar symptoms to chronic pharyngitis, so once the inflammation persists, you should go to the hospital for examination. It can be detected by routine ear, nose and throat examination. After ruling out cancer, if there is no relief from regular treatment of pharyngitis, the possibility of reflux pharyngitis should be considered.
