The novel coronavirus is highly infectious and has a certain incubation period after infection, usually 3-7 days, with onset as early as 1 day and as late as about 14 days. Most people with novel coronavirus infection will develop symptoms about a week after infection, and the form of onset varies due to differences in individual resistance. Some will develop symptoms such as mild malaise and low-grade fever, which will resolve spontaneously after a week; some will develop symptoms of pneumonia such as high fever and respiratory distress, which will resolve after treatment; some will rapidly develop symptoms such as acute respiratory distress syndrome, bleeding and clotting dysfunction, and even death.
