Timing of testing after high-risk sex

After high-risk sex, you can usually test for HIV antibodies in about 4-6 weeks.

High-risk sex is sex without any safety measures, which causes HIV infection and transmission through close contact and exchange of body fluids. After high-risk sex, if you are concerned about HIV infection, you can be tested for HIV-specific antibodies after the window period, usually on days 14 and 21. Suspected patients can go to regular hospital venereal disease departments and medical centers for initial testing at the corresponding time, or several retests if in doubt. The final test result is based on the completion of 3 months of high-risk behavior.

It is recommended to take preventive medication within 2 hours after high-risk sex, preferably no more than 24 hours, the earlier you take preventive medication, the lower the probability of HIV infection.
