Do patients with external hemorrhoids always need surgery?

The answer to this question is not fixed and depends on the condition. External hemorrhoids are redundant organisms that occur below the dentate line of the anal canal, outside the hemorrhoid plexus after varicose veins or inflammation and connective tissue proliferation. Clinically, they are divided into: connective tissue external hemorrhoids, varicose external hemorrhoids, inflammatory external hemorrhoids and thrombosed external hemorrhoids. The general principle of treatment: asymptomatic hemorrhoids do not require treatment, symptomatic external hemorrhoids do not require radical treatment to conservative treatment, conservative treatment is not effective can choose surgery. So which cases of external hemorrhoids need surgical treatment? For inflammatory external hemorrhoids that are treated conservatively with medication but the inflammatory edema does not subside for a long time, or for inflammatory external hemorrhoids that flare up frequently and affect the quality of work and life, surgical excision treatment can be performed. For thrombosed external hemorrhoids, the pain in the anal area is obvious and the thrombus is not easily absorbed. Connective tissue external hemorrhoids do not require surgical treatment in most cases, but in cases of recurrent edema of connective tissue external hemorrhoids, or if the patient feels that it is affecting his life, surgical treatment can be performed as appropriate. For the treatment of varicose external hemorrhoids, surgery is generally not required. Surgery is only considered when the varicose external hemorrhoids are infected and swollen and painful, and when conservative medication is ineffective. The surgical method is to strip the external hemorrhoid plexus. The actual hemorrhoids that are not frequently inflamed, do not have obvious discomfort, and do not increase in size for a long time or increase slowly are not necessary for surgery, as long as you pay attention to keeping your bowels open, eat less spicy and stimulating food, and avoid getting cold.
