External hemorrhoid surgery takes about 5-10 minutes if done under local infiltration anesthesia, and if done under sacral anesthesia, the anesthesia time is about 20 minutes, plus the surgery time would be between 25-30 minutes. But many hemorrhoids don’t simply have external hemorrhoids, it usually uses mixed hemorrhoids, and while the external hemorrhoids are removed, the internal hemorrhoids may have to be ligated and the overall time takes about 30-40 minutes. The length of surgery is not a criterion for good or bad surgery, as some surgeries may be relatively complex, and if you want to achieve fine treatment, then the surgery needs to be slow, steady, and careful so that the post-operative healing will be faster, less painful, less bleeding, and less likely to have complications like edema. Therefore, the removal of external hemorrhoids for hemorrhoids does not necessarily need to be done too quickly.
