How is blood sugar checked in pregnant women

Glucose testing is required during pregnancy, mainly through blood tests, and there are different circumstances for measuring blood glucose in pregnant women:

1. If a pregnant woman is overly obese, has a family history of diabetes or a history of ovarian syndrome, she should have a 75 gram glucose tolerance test within 12 weeks of pregnancy;

2.

3. If a pregnant woman has a history of diabetes before becoming pregnant, she should stop taking oral hypoglycemic drugs and replace them with insulin injections after becoming pregnant, and always monitor her internal blood glucose levels, remembering to have regular maternity exams to keep an eye on her body’s blood glucose levels and ensure healthy fetal development.

Under normal circumstances, the normal value of fasting blood glucose for pregnant women is between 3.1 and 5.6 mmol/L. When a pregnant woman has a blood glucose test within an hour after eating, the blood glucose value should not exceed 10 mmol/L, which is the normal level. The normal value of blood glucose testing two hours after a meal is specified as not being able to exceed 6.7mmol/L. Once an abnormality is detected, prompt medical treatment should be sought, otherwise it may directly affect the health of the pregnant woman and the fetus.
