The nodules in category 3 of the breast usually do not get smaller, and the nodules usually increase in size over time, or they may grow more slowly. 3 nodules are mostly benign lesions, and the possibility of malignancy is very small. If the breast nodule is basically unchanged at the time of review, you can continue to wait and do not need surgery for the time being. If, during the review, the nodule increases in size or becomes significantly larger, or if it changes from a category 3 nodule to a category 4B or C nodule, surgery should be considered.
